Name: Ezra
Nicknames: Ezzie, Ez
Age or DOB: 4-5 months old (as of 9/17/20)
Activity Level: medium/high
Things I do in my free time: chase bugs outside (crickets are my fav), chew on my Benebone, love a good stuffed toy I can run around with, play tug with foster mom, wrestle with my doggie foster sister
Things I know: My name, no puppy/play biting (sometimes when I'm hyper, I forget a little & have to be reminded-but I've mostly replaced this with licks), sit, walking nice on leash (this was a lot for me to learn, foster mom says I would try to do what she calls an 'alligator roll'...while I haven't been doing that anymore, sometimes I'm still a little hesitant about it, so you have to gently pull/encourage me along, but then I really love walking with my foster mom & foster doggie sister), potty trained (In crate: no accidents in crate, can be in there overnight no problem & will whine when she needs to go; Out in the house: will sit by the door when she needs to go, will also sometimes whine-she's been getting better with that...but with any puppy, need to watch closely & also proactively let out to avoid accidents)
Things I am learning: going into my crate with "Crate" command, waiting for my food (sit and wait until release word "OK" is given), off (not jumping up), down (lie down), come
Kids: youngest I've met is a teenager, so not sure how I would be with little kids...but foster mom says I can be a bit high energy when I want to play (zoomies), so I might accidentally bump into little kids if they're out at the same time
Dogs: I love my foster siblings - one of them is a senior guy & I've learned (foster mom getting me in trouble is very effective ?) that I can't play with him like I do with my foster sister who is younger & knows how to appropriately put me in check even when she wants to be done playing with me
Cats: not sure, have not met any
Size: around 20-25 lbs. I’ve got big paws & am very solid (heavy when you pick me up), so I think I will be a big girl
Car rides: I can get car sick (2 out of 5 car rides I have gone on, I got sick in my crate)
Additional Info from foster: Ezra is a fast learner, cookie motivated, smart girl! She is also a little strong headed, especially when being reprimanded for a bad behavior (e.g. she seems to think it's funny when she gets in trouble for digging, she always gets the zoomies after ?), so of course while training/strong leadership/structure & consistency is always important when trying to raise a well-behaved dog, I think that it will be especially important with her. She would be great with an active person/family, who is dedicated to giving her training/structure she needs - she is so smart, I really think she will be a fantastic dog, but not in a home where you want to be able to be a little more lax on training/consistency. She is a rockstar in her crate, seriously the best foster I have had regarding that - she has had no accidents (can do 8 hours overnight no problem), any whining (for non-I need to go potty reasons) is so minimal/short-lived (e.g. she has to be in there more post-spay surgery to keep her activity level low during recovery, and while she's not thrilled about that as she would love to run around & play a bunch, she gets over it quickly & will accept that she needs to relax in there and is happy to nap or chew her benebone)...and when she does need to go potty she will whine to let you know (and you can tell the whining is a little different/more insistent when it's for this). She will eventually want to chew her bone/or lie down to nap by you once she's tired, but sometimes with her energy a little on the higher side you will need to put her in crate to nap (e.g. if you need to get anything done before she tires herself lol). She is seriously such a fun, spunky, sweet girl (likes to give you lots of crazy licks on the face) that is always making me laugh/can always cheer you up on a bad day because she's just such a happy pup!
