Meet Emmy
So, this is Emmy, who is a 6 year old dog. It is a topic of some debate as to what her ancestry is. This is a small dog weighing in at 25 pounds. She has a broad flat face like a Boston terrier and a pudgy stumpy body so my money is on perhaps some dachshund. Whatever her ancestry may be, this is not a face that Loreal is going to hire to hawk makeup to the masses. I'd like to say that her bubbly disposition makes up for the lack of physical beauty, but I would be lying.
Emmy is with us a) because her owner died and b) because we are suckers. This dog is the quintessential older person's dog. She is lazy. She is well-mannered in the home and believes it is her divine right to be on every piece of furniture because, of course, it is. She does not appreciate shrieky children and would be best in a home with no kids, or kids over the age of 13 who are wearing noise cancelling headphones and are lost in their own world of questionable music. She is not overly fond of other little dogs and will do her level best to ensure they know that she loathes their existence. Dogs her size and larger are all good.
In Emmy's ideal world, she will be the lone dog to serve as tribute for petting in a home with an owner who wants to pet her. She is kind of a one owner kind of dog and will bond very deeply with that person. That one person is the apple of her eye. Other people are generally tolerated if not appreciated. This is not an outgoing dog and if you are a lazy hermit and if you could be the "get off my lawn"/Scooby Doo villain guy shaking your fist at kids, Emmy is your dog.
