HOW TO MEET THIS ANIMAL: Fill out an application first!

ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 60+ lbs

KNOWN WITH DOGS: Emma loves to play with her three adult foster siblings, ranging in size from 25 to 100 pounds.

KNOWN WITH CATS: Not sure as the foster does not have cats, but puppies introduced early to cats tend to do just fine with their feline siblings.

KNOWN WITH KIDS: Emma loves everyone! She is also teething, and a very active player. Older kids will be better able to enjoy her than toddlers.

KNOWN COMMANDS: Emma is unbelievably smart. She is working on sit, no (a sharp uhuh! lets her know to stop what she is doing and move on), out (of the pantry, the laundry room, etc), off (of the kitchen table, of the kitchen chair that leads to the kitchen table ;0) and gentle (shhh). She knows Good Girl!

KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING, CRATING: Emma does not love her crate but sleeps there quietly overnight, barking when she needs to go out. She is working on pottying outside, and using pee pads reliably inside for accidents.

KNOWN LIKES: Playing with other dogs, people, and lots of toys and bones. Food and training treats! Exploring, sometimes above ground (see pics), inside and outside. Cuddling for micronaps as she recharges for her next adventure!

KNOWN DISLIKES: Being left out of the action.

ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Emma is a very energetic puppy who would love an adopter who can keep up with her joyful running, jumping, and fancy footwork. Her eyes are bright and reflect her intelligence. She learns very quickly and wants to please (especially since this equals a training treat!). Her coat is soft and shiny, she has the cutest little white chin patch, and her fluffy-ish tail curls up over her back to end in a twirl - which summarizes her personality perfectly! She would love to be under your holiday tree this year, though she would quickly climb it and leap from the top, right into your arms for kisses. ;o)

Eddie, Eve, Emma, and Evelyn were found along with their mom Elvira in rural VA as strays. They were brought to the shelter and are now with us waiting to find their forever homes.
