Emersyn American Staffordshire Terrier & Akita Mix Idaho Falls, ID

Emersyn is a stunning dog. She was very affectionate with the transport driver (who is also a very experienced dog handler) & he made it clear that she just needs a person to love. She only spent a few minutes with him before their trip from California before she was giving puppy kisses & jumping in his lap to be held!

Where did she come from, you may be wondering? She was saved from euthanasia by an animal rescue in California just six minutes before she was going to be put down due to space constraints at the city shelter where she was located. The rescue owner who saved her has fallen very ill, & several other nonprofit shelters / rescuers /transport organizations got involved to rehome all the dogs in her care.

The dog trainer she worked with & every volunteer at her former home has told us that she is the biggest people lover you could ever ask for. She learned "sit," "stay," and "down" in her training and is house trained! However, without professional dog training specializing in dog-to-dog improvements, she will continue to reactive with other dogs.

She was adopted for three weeks but returned because the adopter was an older man whose health issues made it too challenging to work with her play biting (he made it clear she's not aggressive, just puppy bites and needs training). In our opinion, Emersyn would flourish in a home who will put her into dog training and give her clear boundaries.

She's a very affectionate girl who is just looking for love & we know that she was worth saving!
