Our shelter has been taken over by a certain kind of hysteria...it's true, folks.. We've all got Elsy fever. We can't even count the number of people who have WISHED they could take Elsy home, but our homes are all already at capacity. She is one of the best dogs who has EVER been up for adoption through our shelter and we absolutely adore Elsy.


When Elsy came in, she was suffering from a terrible bacterial infection and had lost the majority of her hair. Antibiotics were all she needed, and slowly it has been growing back, and now she has a coat that is more life peach fuzz than real hair! It just adds to her charm, though, and we love to tell her she looks like a little piglet with her chubby body and next-to-naked skin.


Elsy has been living in our lobby for the past few weeks, so we have been able to spend a lot of time with her and see how she reacts to all types of situations. Elsy has been PERFECT with other dogs. In fact, her best friend at the shelter is an 8 pound Chihuahua named Rocky! She is also good with cats, although she finds cats to be very strange and scary creatures she would rather avoid. Elsy is HOUSEBROKEN and is very good about going potty outside. She doesn't make noise unless she is playing, in which case you hear an occasional "boof" of happiness. She has a low-moderate energy level and spends most of her day curled up in her favorite bed. BUT, if you play "chase" with her she gets so excited and will run circles around the room.


Miss Elsy is a people person. She wants to be where the people are, and she's never happier than when she's curled up at your feet. She is looking for an indoor home where she can be spoiled rotten and loved forever. Is that too much to ask for??
