Ellie Mae is not demure, classy, or mindful; she is brazen, shameless, and scruffy! At only 28.4 lbs., and approximately 8 months old, she thinks she is a great life coach, but she’s more of a micromanager. Ellie wants to know what you’re doing at all times and whether or not she’s included. She will motivate you to get up and get moving, have fun every day, and most importantly, make it all about her. She firmly believes that life really is all about her, every day, all day!

Ellie really loves other dogs too! She’s got a couple foster brothers in her foster home, and some cats too! She thinks cats are lame and doesn’t understand why they get to have long claws but she can’t. When she plays with other dogs, she's loud and boisterous, just like her personality and the other dog will either love it, learn to love it, or will learn to deal with it (according to her). When she’s not playing with other dogs, she’s usually chewing on a Nylabone, Kong, or some type of squeaker toy (she will get the squeaker out, even if it takes her all day).

Ellie ss doing much better with crate and potty training. She’s good in her crate for about 5 hours now. As long as she has some things to keep her entertained, she will happily go in her crate, but if she knows you’re home, she will whine in hopes that you’ll come get her out.

Ellie is still working on understanding the purpose of walking on a leash, and doing things like "sit," and "down." She thinks its cool that she’s getting treats, but would really like it if she just got the treats for being cute.

We’re not entirely sure what breed(s) Ellie Mae is, but we’re thinking terrier mix, maybe some border collie, something slender and streamlined for sure though! She’s got a BIG personality, in a smallish dog body and she cannot wait to meet you!

As part of our adoption agreement, we require that you and your adopted canine attend a minimum of one group basic obedience course within 4 months of adoption. If adopting a puppy under 4 months old, we also require a group puppy socialization course be started immediately upon adoption.

In addition, we require that puppies under 6 months of age will not be alone for more than 4 hours at a time in an 8 hour workday. We highly encourage working families to consider older puppies and adult dogs, but if your heart is set on a puppy, please consider doggie daycare.
