Ellie Basset Hound & Beagle Mix Willingboro, NJ

Hi! My name is Ellie and I am looking for a forever home. I was picked up as a stray by Animal Control and taken to a really scary place called a shelter. When no one came to claim me, I was placed on something bad called "the list"; fortunately for me, a BCAA volunteer had stopped by to pull some other dogs also on "the list", saw me looking up with sad, scared eyes and said she would take me, too ... yeah! I was so happy, I trotted out of that place with my tail up and a big smile on my face. I am about a year old so past all of that puppy foolishness, and I weigh just under 40lbs. I am probably a beagle-basset mix and am also what some folks call a "low-rider" since I have short legs and I'm close to the ground. It doesn't take me long to know I can trust you and I love getting attention (treats really help!). High energy dogs scare me but I've gotten along with the other calmer dogs I've met, and I haven't bothered those things called cats. I have done well in my crate without any accidents or tearing up of any bedding although I would really prefer to be out with you and will let you know not to forget about me if I see or hear you.
