Meet Ellie
Ellie is a cute little 6 year old Papillon mix who weighs 13.8 lbs.
She is looking for a new home because her human will be moving into an assisted living residence and she is not able to join her.
Ellie spent the first three years of her life working on basic survival needs. She learned it was not safe to cuddle on the couch and that humans might not be gentle when doing things like basic grooming. She’s working hard to learn that there are humans who really do care.
Ellie’s human says she doesn’t do too well with basic commands, and acknowledges that this little smart pup needs a person who will be firm enough with her to learn.
Ellie gets along with some dogs better than others. A meet and greet will be a necessity in determining who she can live with. Because of her unstable early life, she can be fearful of some new people and dogs, and can also be protective of her food.
Ellie appears to be more comfortable with women and if she found the right person - a person who doesn't mind being firm, but gentle, that’s all that really matters. As long as she gets lots of walks and can bark at things, followed by lots of loving, she’s good.

NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes so it is not possible to setup a meet and greet prior to submitting an adoption application.
If our Adoption Coordinator determines you are a good match they will contact you. This is a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have and decide if you would like to setup a meet and greet.
ADOPTION FEE is $150, and there’s a 10% Discount for Senior Citizens and Veterans.

We apologize, but we are not able to answer individual questions about our dogs. We are a small, all-volunteer organization and we receive hundreds of inquiries. Thank you for your understanding.
