Ella is a sweet, kind hearted loving one year old pup who is learning for the first time how to be apart of a family. She is very smart, and can open doors, turn keys and bust out of a crate. However if left a lone at home in a safe secure room with toys and water she is very well behaved and will patiently wait for her humans to return home. At night she loves to sleep with her humans in the same room always sneaking up for cuddles.

Ella is learning how to walk on a leash and is learning to trust her humans will bring her back home each time. She is not reactive to dogs, squirrels or cats on walks. She is working on her pulling but with a proper harness is manageable. She is almost fully house trained and only has a few accidents mainly when we aren’t quick enough to get her outside. She is learning to love being in the backyard, and has started exploring what that freedom looks like. She loves to play fetch, but her favourite is tug a war.

Ella would do best in a home with older children ( teenagers) or adults only as she does love little kids and is great with them, but tends to want to mother them and ends up being too protective of them, not allowing people outside of the household near them. This girl takes a bit to warm up to you but once she does she loves you deeply, and always wants to be with you. We have been working on her separation anxiety but would do well in a home that isn’t away for long periods of time. She is very food motivated which is great for training but make sure your garbages are put away, locked and food isn’t left on the counter. This girl has lots of love to offer and settles well with her humans. With patience and some training she will make an excellent pet for your home.

Things she’s great at: cuddles, settling down with her humans, waiting patiently for her supper, giving back or dropping things she shouldn’t have, car rides.

Things she needs work on: meeting new people, house training, separation anxiety, food/ counter surfing.
Ella is also waiting for surgery on her leg as she has some calcium build up on her front leg near the joint. This will be covered by the rescue, so if she does find a family before this takes place, it will be covered under a medical agreement.

The adoption fee is $600 and includes spay/neuter (dogs over 6 months), vaccines, heartworm test (dogs over 6 months), deworming, Flea and tick prevention and microchip. Please visit www.paws-united.com to fill out an application.
**For puppies under 6 months a $200 spay/neuter rebate will be given with proof of spay/neuter certificate signed by a vet, if they have not been done prior to adoption.**
**Please note we DO NOT adopt our dogs as outdoor/farm dogs. These dogs are coming to us as stray, roaming or dogs that have lived a life tied to a chain. Our goal is to bring them in the house off the chain and give them a pampered indoor dogs lifestyle. Unless otherwise stated we will not even consider a home that has intentions of leaving our dogs outdoors or tied to a chain**
***We do require every applicant to provide a vet reference and we do follow up with your vet. If you do not currently have a vet as you have no pets, we strongly encourage you to do your research and contact vets to make sure they are accepting new patients. You must have a vet in place before bringing a new dog home. You will be required to give your vet permission to release information to us, we also require two personal references as well that will be contacted. We have policy and procedure in place while screening homes. If a family refuses any step in the process they will not qualify for adoption. We are not currently doing adoptions across the boarder.***
