friendly guy. He loves treats and knows
sit. He would love to meet you today!
Duke's adoption fee is $75.
WE DO NOT RESPOND TO EMAIL INQUIRES DUE TO THE VOLUME OF REQUEST. PLEASE FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE BELOW. Due to the number of inquires, we are not able to answer email questions. This means if you submit any questions via Petfinder or email, you will not get a response.
Interested adopters can view dogs at MADACC during the hours of 1 pm to 7 pm weekdays and 11 am to 4 pm on weekends.
To adopt:
1. Fill out application online. You will be notified if approved. If you have not heard from us in 24 hours, please call.
2. Come to MADACC during adoption hours and meet the dog(s) you are interested in.
3. If it is a match, the adoption is complete that day.
Not all dogs are spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. They will be scheduled as quickly as possible. Dogs can not go until altered. No holds can be placed.

Cats and Kids: Due to the fact that MADACC's dogs come in as strays, we don't often have information regarding behavior with cats or children unless the dog is in foster care or otherwise indicated. As such, the best thing to do is to come in with your family to meet the dogs. Cat savvy dogs normally do well with our dogs as long as they are introduced slowly, safely and properly.
Applications can be emailed to adopt@madacc.org; faxed to 414-763-6234; or dropped off at MADACC at 3839 W Burnham St. West Milwaukee. Upon approval, all dogs will undergo an pre-adoption health exam, and then a meet-and-greet will be scheduled.
Up-to-date with all age appropriate Vaccinations
Spay or Neuter Surgery
Microchip (includes registration)
Heartworm testing
Treatments for fleas/worms as needed
Pre-Select (PS) dog adoptions are available through our new process of making certain dogs available for adoption prior to the stray hold expiring. Not all animals will qualify for Pre-Selection;(those with known owners, those with medical and behavioral challenges, and other variables). You will be able to meet with these dogs and if we make a match we will set up an adoption appointment at the end of the stray hold. If an owner comes ;to reclaim, we will return the dog; to it’s family and void that adoption. If no owner comes to reclaim, we will have the animal made ready for adoption and able to have their new family pick up at the earliest date available after the stray hold expires. You can find Pre-Select Animals by going to our Lost/Found Page, looking at the found dogs at MADACC and looking for a PS in the ID field. The status of animals can change daily pending medical exams so if you are interested in an animal you can check back. Only animals identified with a PS are available for the Pre-Select program.
Dogs and cats that have not been reclaimed are also available to meet and bring home at our building seven days per week. Our adoptable cats are always viewable in our lobby. Our adoption center staff will happily help you select the right dog to add to your family. We strongly encourage you to come into our facility to meet animals in person and not wait for animals to be updated on our Petfinder page. That page is not able to always be updated in a timely way and you could miss out on an animal you could be interested in if you do not come in person.
