ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13806

Hi!

My name is Dude and Im guessed to be a Plott Hound mixed breed mix. I am a 2 year old guy and weigh about 33lbs.

My foster mom says Im a very sweet & loving boy who also has a spunky side. I love to play. Tug-of-war, fetch, and chewing on toys are my favorite.

I am housetrained. I am also doing very well learning how to politely walk on a leash. I know to sit and leave it when my humans ask me to and up & down. I still get excited & jump up sometimes.

I am very affectionate and snuggly and I love to hang around my favorite humans. But when its play time, I crank up the energy and show my adventurous side as I run around and have fun. I am gentle when I take a treat and I am polite around children. My foster mom says I did great when I met my first dog and now Ive been only feet away from cats through a screen and I didn't even pay them any attention. I get all wiggly and squirmy when I get petted and even whine if I know you!

As for being in the crate, its not my favorite but I know its safe so I dont really mind being in there. At night, if my foster mom is within sight of my crate, I might whine a little but then I settle down ok. Its all so new to me.

I can't wait to get to my forever home! Is that with you? Apply to adopt me today! This cuteness wont be available for long!

Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. (OPH) rescues dogs and cats of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters in NC, VA, MD, and SC, reducing the numbers being euthanized. With limited resources, the shelters are forced to put down 50-90% of the animals that come in the front door. OPH provides pet adoption services to families located in VA, DC, MD, PA and neighboring states. OPH is a 501(c)(3) organization and is 100% donor funded. OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each pet before finding a forever home. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
