Meet Drew (Fostered @ Training Facility)
Meet Drew! Drew is a 1 1/2 year old male Greyhound/Shepherd mix (total guess!) that is looking for his new forever home.
Drew's ideal owner would be one who has plenty of time for exercise and training. This boy didn't have much structure where he came from, and he's currently in a bit of a "teenage" phase. That mixed with the fact that he's a bit pent up in the shelter means he's going to need an owner to remind him of what the rules are (i.e. no mouthing, bratty biting, no jumping up, etc). He's wicked smart, so this won't take long for him to learn! Plus, he's attentive and definitely wants to learn, so he's going to be SO much fun to work with!
Drew keeps his kennel clean at the shelter, so we think he's mostly potty trained. However, it's best to utilize a crate or a separated area at first, that way he can learn the new potty schedule.
Drew will require lots of exercise, so a runner, avid walker or hiker would be his all time favorite! He's going to love adventures!
Drew does well with other dogs, too! He's actually quite submissive, and can be a little bit timid/fearful if he's overwhelmed, so an overbearing dog might be too much for him (this sweet boy literally submissive piddles if he feels too much pressure). But, a happy-go-lucky, respectful, playful buddy would be great for Drew! Because he's still in a mouthy phase and does have herding tendencies, we'd recommend older kids (14+), depending on the parents' comfort level with training and boundaries.
Drew is SUCH a fun dog! He's loving, affectionate, fun, loves fetch, did well for his bath, and is just ready to break out of the shelter life! If you'd like to have this guy join you on a cross country adventure, he'd love to meet you!
We can schedule a time for you to meet Drew after an adoption application has been approved: His adoption fee is $180.
