Meet Crosby
Crosby is called the mayor of the shelter. He is around six years old. He is well mannered, walks politely on leash and enjoys greeting everyone he meets. Unfortunately, Crosby does suffer from anxiety. He struggles with separation anxiety which is the equivalent of having a panic attack when left alone. He needs a family where someone will be home most of the time. He needs a consistent routine to feel secure. This is something that is very treatable with specialized training(provided by the shelter). Crosby is wonderful with children of all ages. He is polite greeting other dogs but must be the only pet in the home.
Separation anxiety isn't something that should keep a dog like Crosby in the shelter. Dogs with separation anxiety get adopted every day, and plenty of people out there have had dogs like Crosby. So help us find them! If he's not the right fit for you, please tell your friends about him. Think he might be a fit for you? Please e-mail trainer@spca914.org to talk more about Crosby.
Due to Covid-19 the SPCA is allowing adoptions by appointment only. If you’d like to discuss an animal and/or set up a meet and greet please email shelter@spca914.org with your competed application and a copy of your driver’s license or a government issued ID. Please allow up to 72 hours for a response! Thank you for your understanding!
Prior to COVID-19, all animals were spayed/neutered prior to adoption. However, if we are unable to alter your newly adopted pet due to social distancing restrictions, an appointment will be scheduled with our veterinary clinic post-adoption to have this procedure done within 4 months of your adoption date. The cost of the spay/neuter is included in the adoption fee so there is no additional expense for this service. A $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit will be required for unaltered pets at the time of adoption. Adoptions fees can be found below.
Adults dogs over 1 year of age: $225-$375
All Puppies: $375
Seniors and Lonely Hearts Club members: $85
