PERSONALITY TRAITS: Dougie is great with other dogs and would do well with a doggie sibling to help him gain some confidence. He will be initially nervous around new humans but warms up quickly. He is playful, affectionate and happy, and doesn't require a ton of exercise. He's very trainable and food motivated. He is fine being left alone in the house for short periods, and doesn't chew inappropriate things.
LIKES: Once he's comfortable with you, there is nothing Dougie enjoys more than snuggles and lap time with his humans. He especially likes being brushed. He enjoys walks on a leash and time outside in the yard with other dogs in his foster home. He loves to curl up in a snuggly blanket on the couch.
DISLIKES: He doesn't especially enjoy car rides or time in his crate.
POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Once he is over his initial nervousness, he has gone outside every time at his foster home. He has also learned to use the doggie door.
CRATE TRAINING STATUS: He does not love being in a crate, and will whine, but he has begrudgingly slept all night in it. He definitely prefers to be with his family.
EXTRAS/MISC.: He will require a secure yard and will try to escape if he is nervous. Once he is comfortable with you, he is a velcro dog who will happily follow you everywhere.

Adoption fee is $500.00.

Adoption fees help cover the costs of Transport, Distemper/Parvo Boosters, Rabies shot, Microchip, and Spay/Neuters. You will also receive a PetSmart coupon sheet worth hundreds of dollars in savings, including a FREE bag of food.
