Dobby, is a charming and energetic 2-year-old male with a striking black and white coat and his lovable personality shines through. Dobby currently weighs 29lbs and is expected to be a medium-sized dog when fully grown, falling between 26-60 pounds.

This playful pup has mastered house training, with only a few accidents, usually near the door. He is also crate-trained, showing tolerance for short stints. Dobby loves car rides with his crate and is making progress in getting comfortable with it.

While Dobby's interactions with other dogs and cats are uncertain, he would likely benefit from a furry playmate, especially a puppy who enjoys rough and tumble play. Although he hasn't been observed with children, due to his rough and strong play style, older children would likely be the best match for him.

Dobby is currently on medication to manage his exuberant energy, particularly after dinner. With some training, he is expected to learn to channel this energy more effectively. His foster parent notes his sweet and sensitive nature, describing him as a snuggler who loves to kiss and lean his head against yours.

Dobby's past experiences in a rural area with limited interaction have left him a bit anxious about new things. He engages in self-soothing play-biting and barking when confronted with unfamiliar sounds. Despite his initial anxiety, Dobby adjusted surprisingly well to his foster home, which consists of a calm environment provided by a single owner and a senior companion.

This adorable canine companion has unique quirks that bring joy to his foster family, such as his proud moment stance after kicking up grass post-potty and his penchant for stealing shoes and socks. His name, inspired by the Harry Potter books, adds a touch of magic to his already endearing personality.

Dobby's likes include his meals, freeze-dried treats, pig ears, and his arctic kong. He loves to play, eat, nap during the day, and most of all, he enjoys his walks. His dislikes seem minimal, perhaps limited to strangers and very large dogs.

Dobby is vocal only when he is fearful or uncertain and displays some separation anxiety. He hasn't been left alone at his current home, making him an ideal companion for someone who can provide the attention he craves.

Given his high energy level, Dobby requires lots of exercise and would thrive in a home with a yard where he can run off leash. A playmate with a similar play style would be an added bonus for this spirited pup.

While Dobby could adapt to living in an apartment with shared walls, his foster parent believes a house would be a better fit due to the potential disruptions in a multi-unit setting. A fence is recommended, ideally a 4-foot chain-link fence, to give him the freedom to explore and investigate.

Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 90-mile radius of Minneapolis; however, we will consider up to 250 miles if the applicant is willing to drive to cities as needed.
