Dixon Great Dane & Hound Mix Rochester, NY

DIXON is Great Dane hound mix and is estimated to be 3-4 years old. He comes to ALL of our events with us as he just gets along with everyone. And everyone loves him. And yet here still sits we can only guess because of his size, which is about 80 lbs. He's dog friendly and enjoys playing with his foster siblings, who are all bigger dogs. (when introduced to other dogs, it's occasionally been the case they don't like him, even though he always seems to like them) He's been great with all kids he's been around at all the events he's attended. He's around 80 lbs and is good in a crate, but must be let outside right away after he's let out of his crate. He enjoys walks but does best with a no-pull harness, as he can be a puller, and these really help. Dixon really loves to cuddle with his people and has been with us for over a year! He is okay with dog-savvy cats (ones that aren't super skittish and act scared of dogs) Dixon really deserves his forever home and is a great overall dog for people who like bigger dogs.

Adoption fee covers: all vetting to age (including deworming, deflea etc ), spay/neuter and microchip at ~6 months at our clinic,$60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes, and lifetime support of rescue.

We are still doing application processing virtually since COVID-19 and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely foster-based, so there are NO DOGS KEPT AT THE SHOP.

PLEASE NOTE: If a dog is listed as Adoptable, he or she is still available at that time. Also, our adoption area is within a several hour radius of us in Rochester, NY (NOT including Canada - sorry!)
