Meet Devyn
About Me....
This is sweet Devyn. She is 10 years old and on the smaller side weighing in at 53.4lbs. She came into rescue via the shelter and unknown previous history. We do believe she had several litters, and has scares on her nose from something. Devyn was examined by our vet and found to be in-tact and had a uterine hernia. She walks easily and nicely on a leash, get’s up/down effortlessly for an approx. 10 yr old dog. She loves being brushed and will give kisses. She will bark if she hears someone or something outside.
On her ride to foster, Devyn rode nicely in the car and has become more comfortable getting in / out. She is now recuperating and getting the hang of the routine at her foster home. We do believe Devyn prefers to be an only dog – she’s kind of bossy and growly with her foster dogs when they invade her “space”. We do not know about cats, but she’ll probably be the same.
Immediately, Devyn was very clingy (and still is) wanting to be by her foster mom at all times. She would bark and push the baby gate to get to her Foster Mom. Within a few days, she accepted the separation better, but will still prefer to be always by your side. She hasn’t been destructive in the house, and she waits to potty outside.
She is very curious of her surroundings and loves to explore the backyard and sniff everything on her walks and park visits.
Devyn is living with two other goldens (male & female). Devyn growls at her foster fur-siblings when they come near her, or if the foster mom is giving attention to the other dogs. She is not vicious, but clearly prefers her own uninterrupted space. She will lay on the floor in close proximity to the other dogs, but never engaging in play or sniffing.
My Ideal Home....
As mentioned, Devyn wants to be your “one and only”. Someone home most of the time, low to medium activity, attentive to her request for pets and attention…. And LOTS of it. Someone who isn’t intent on visiting dog parks frequently, as we’re confident this isn’t Devyn’s thing. Since she is a senior, she would prefer a mellow home, single level with non-slippery floors. Although as mentioned, Devyn gets along fine on wood floors today.
