Meet Delilah
Delilah is a sweet, playful, and affectionate dog who's ready to find her forever home. She's an athletic girl with a heart full of love and a desire to please. Whether she's out for an adventure, playing with her doggy friends, or curling up on the sofa next to you for some snuggles, Delilah is a true companion.
Foster update:
Delilah is a social butterfly who loves people and other dogs. She enjoys playing with other dogs and is confident in social situations, but she knows when to take a step back and give others space. She's always up for some playtime but also appreciates some quiet moments with her humans.
Delilah is a quick learner and is very food-motivated, making her training a breeze. She already knows basic commands and has even learned a few more since being in her foster home. Whether it's a new trick or reinforcing old ones, Delilah is eager to please and loves the reward of praise and treats.
This girl loves to go on walks and be out and about, making her a perfect match for someone with an active lifestyle. However, after a good adventure, she's more than happy to curl up on the couch for some quality cuddle time. She really thrives on human affection and is always looking for reassurance that she's loved and has a place in your home.
Delilah's adorable ears are sure to steal your heart. They're not just cute-they also add to her already charming personality! And don't get us started on her big beautiful doe eyes...
Delilah craves affection from her humans and may need some extra reassurance to feel secure in her forever home. She's looking for a family that will provide her with the love and attention she needs, ensuring she never feels left behind.
As an active dog, Delilah would thrive in a home where she can get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. If you love to hike, run, or go on adventures, she'll be right there with you every step of the way!

steps to adopting
(OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS ARE IN SEPARATE TEMPORARY FOSTER HOMES BETWEEN BEND/CENTRAL OREGON AND THE GREATER PORTLAND AREA. THEREFORE, MEET AND GREETS ARE NOT DONE AT OUR FACILITY. TO LEARN MORE, PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR ADOPTION APPLICATION ONLINE AND OUR ADOPTION PROGRAM MANAGER WILL REACH OUT TO YOU WITH FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MEET YOUR NEW PUP!)
The first step to adopting a dog from SDH is to complete the adoption application. First click on the "OUR DOGS tab up above, and then click on the orange colored "Fill out an Adoption Application here" button to start the process). Once submitted, please expect 3-5 business days or sooner for processing and to hear back from us. Once you are pre-approved, your adoption application will remain on file with us for 1 year and it can go towards multiple adoptions within that 1 year time frame before it expires.
To finalize an adoption you must sign the adoption contract and pay the full adoption fee of $550. The adoption fee helps cover our costs. On average, per dog, it costs SDH between $500-$700 for vetting/medical/sterilization, transport and other rescue related expenses. All dogs are rescued and do not transport to SDH until they are healthy and ready to be adopted. All dogs are examined by a veterinarian before they fly, which includes sterilization whenever possible, given standard vaccines and rabies (if age appropriate). Most dogs are sterilized before they come into our program, however if this is not the case we will spay/neuter them once they arrive at our cost.
Upon their arrival, all dogs are seen for a wellness exam by SDH's medical team. Once the adoption is finalized, any further medical care or treatment will not be covered by SDH, unless discussed prior with our medical team. All known issues are disclosed to the best of our ability prior to finalizing the adoption.
