Del loves little treats. Food treats are a powerful reinforcer for good behavior. Del arrived to Dogwood with very few people or dog skills and he is doing so well navigating many new life adventures. Potty trained-check! Crate trained- check! Loves people-check! Loves to snuggle-check! Great in the car-check! Loves to walk-check!
Del is dog reactive to some dogs. He will need a patient adopter who will continue his training to give him the confidence he needs. Turning a trigger into a positive experience takes quite a bit of time and effort, but it really does pay off. Bacon treats also help!
Del is the 'fun-size' - 20 pounds and approximately 18 months old. He is a true Dogwood dog- beautifully Heinz 57 and then some!
