Meet Dax (Daxie)

NAME: Dax (Daxie)
AGE: About 4 years
WEIGHT: About 60lbs
BREED(S): Rottweiler, Blue Heeler mix
REASON FOR ARRIVAL: Surrender

GENERAL INFO ABOUT PERSONALITY:

Meet Dax! She is the sweetest, wiggly, lovable girl once she warms up to you.
Dax has made a few doggy friends at OPHS, but mostly she'd rather be playing ball or getting scratches from her human. We think she'd get along with calm, medium to large breed dogs.

Dax is a favorite among staff and volunteers here at OPHS. She has a gentle nature with people, but due to her breed mix, she is naturally wary of strangers. She can be easily bribed with food, though! She knows how to "sit" and "bow".

Dax suffers from hyperthermia, which is a condition where she cannot regulate her temperature and can overheat more easily than the average dog. When playing fetch, she will often regulate her temperate by jumping in the pool between throws. Smart girl! All this means is that her exercise will need to be limited and monitored, which won't be too hard because she's a pretty mellow girl...when she's not playing fetch!
