Daisy can be met Monday through Friday.

Daisy came to CHA when her owner could no longer care for her. While a very sweet and goofy dog with those who care for her regularly, Daisy does show fearful behavior in some situations and she may initially growl and/or bark until she has time to investigate and adjust to new people. When given adequate time to warm up, she becomes very friendly and she is comfortable being held and carried, sitting in laps, and playing fetch. Daisy absolutely loves toys (the squeakier, the better) and likes to fling them around on her own. Daisy would be best in a home with either no children or older children who can read her signals because she has shown some resource guarding behaviors with people over food and toys. With food, she will sometimes growl or lift her lip if interrupted while eating. Regarding toys, Daisy will bring toys over to people and she can be pet while playing with toys and have her toys thrown in a game of fetch but she will sometimes become mouthy when she gets too excited. She will place her teeth on fingers reaching for her toys (generally not applying any pressure with her teeth) in some instances. Daisy's owner reported that she never walked Daisy on leash and Daisy would generally follow her. Daisy would benefit from a patient owner who would utilize positive reinforcement to work on her leash skills and potty-training.
