Daffy is a 2 year old, neutered male, Plott Hound Mix, 65 pounds. He is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can be transported to an approved adopter.

Daffy is a resilient boy with a heartwarming story. He was rescued from the euthanasia list at BARC in Houston, Texas, just moments before it was too late. Thanks to Dizzy Dog Animal Rescue and his incredible foster mom, Daffy got his second chance at life and is now ready to find his furever family.

This fun-loving, playful guy thrives on activity and companionship. He adores playing with other dogs! To channel his enthusiasm, Daffy attends doggy daycare, where he’s made the honor roll! While his compatibility with cats is unknown, Daffy would do best in a home with other playful dogs and an active family who can match his energy. Because of his size and excitement, he’d be a better fit for a home with children over 10, as he sometimes doesn’t realize his strength when he gets excited.

Daffy is fully house-trained and crate-trained, with his crate serving as his safe and secure space for meals. He loves his food so much that he uses a slow feeder bowl to enjoy it at a steady pace. Daffy also knows his name and will come running when called. He enjoys playing catch and spending time by his person’s side.

Like any young dog, Daffy has some quirks. He’s still learning leash manners, as he tends to pull and zigzag, but he’s eager to learn with some guidance. When left unsupervised, Daffy may “relocate” household items to the yard, so crating him is recommended while you’re away. With patience and training, he’ll continue to grow into the wonderful companion he’s meant to be.
