Cuda Border Collie Minneapolis, MN

Young and gorgeous Cuda is searching for his happily ever after. This sweet 11-month old, 35# Border Collie has been on a crash course in house training, minding manners & using his indoor voice. He exceeded our expectations and is ready for a new family. He’s a best friend in the making.

Cuda is joyful, seeking to please and communicate with his people. Friendly and affectionate with medium energy. Great with many types of dogs, happy-playful and neutral. Kennels nicely with an off switch in the house.

In his former home, Cuda spent more time alone than he wanted. As a result, he started vocalizing for attention. Once settled in his foster home, he was acclimated to a vibrating bark collar* to help break that default behavior. He is now able to peacefully (and quietly) relax. We believe once he is in a stable home with routine, lots of love and both physical and mental exercise, he will mature into a totally wonderful guy, without reliance on extra devices.

Because of his history, Cuda needs a home that is willing to take the extra time this young boy deserves to be the best version of himself. Preference for a Border Collie experienced home with another dog to model good behavior and habits. Recently, Cuda has been going to work with his foster mama at a dog daycare to extend his social skills and practice relaxing in a high energy environment.

Best with dogs closer to his size: small dogs and cats can trigger prey drive and herding instincts. Friendly with dog-savvy kitties. Calmer kids roughly 8+ with dog experience would probably be fine. No shared walls, as much of his barking was triggered by noise sensitivity. Athletic and graceful, Cuda can jump a 4-ft fence. Great fit for a family that keeps dogs safe on leash or has a 6-ft fence.

Cuda is being fostered in Stanchfield, MN.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Cuda's adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
