Meet Cricket Rollo - local boy

**Please read Cricket Rollo's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!**

Meet Cricket Rollo - a 2 - 2 1/2 year old, 53 pound, English Pointer/Brittany mix boy who was originally found as a stray in Tennessee. Cricket Rollo came north to a family, but is being returned to us because he needs more attention than his family can give him.

His new foster family shares "Cricket is a big softie who loves to hang out with his people. He loves our kids and loves to play with them. He enjoys his time running around outside, but is perfectly happy laying on a dog bed or couch next to a person for large chunks of the day. He is very good about sitting on command, and he seems to know his size well enough that he doesn't jump on our smallest child (we're working on not jumping on people at all - it's a work in progress). At our home he is living with a larger and a much smaller dog, and he plays very well with both. He will fit into a home with any sized resident dog.

He does not like to be crated, but is perfectly fine outside of it full time. He generally sleeps in one of our bedrooms. He very rarely barks, usually only to greet us when we get home, in response to our other dogs barking, or when he spots a bobcat or other large wild animal through the window (he is fine when other dogs pass by - it's just the wildlife!). He has taken a bit too much of an interest in our cats. We think this can be trained out of him, as he's successfully gotten used to the rabbit we have in an enclosure, but he'll probably do best in a home without cats. As we suspect he may give chase to wildlife outdoors, we strongly recommend a fenced yard or diligent leash walkers.

He'd prefer to be in a home with people where his humans and/or other dogs are at home. He especially loves my wife! We recommend a home where he is not fully alone and is either with people or other dogs. He does very well at doggie day care too.

He is properly housebroken, but is hesitant to go outside when his humans are in bed, so it's best to make sure he gets out right before bedtime and that his forever home has people who can be up and out with him in the morning. He took a few days to comfortably transition (he had a few accidents), and will need patience for those first few days in a new house as he settles in and understands your routine.

This boy is a real gem and a total love - and will make his family happy and complete."

How could you not want to apply for this handsome boy right now?

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
