Creed Pit Bull Terrier Mix Philadelphia, PA

Creed is a 1 year old pit bull mix who came to the Pennsylvania SPCA in October 2015. She was hit by a car right in front of our shelter. Our vets did everything they could for her wounds, and we sent her to Penn Vet for surgery for her leg. The surgery unfortunately couldn't save the damage to her back left leg, and it had to be amputated two weeks later. Her wounds have healed nicely, and you'd never know the trauma she endured. She is such a sweetheart! She absolutely loves every human who comes her way and will happily crawl into their laps for love. Creed is friendly and social, and Penn Vet noted she was a very sweet dog. However, Creed is dog aggressive and has redirected on humans on humans in the past. She is also reactive to cats and would need to be an only pet. She passed with flying colors in all other components of her behavior assessment. She was tolerant of all handling components, showed no issues with strangers, and shows no resource guarding. Here at the shelter, Creed attends behavior modification clinics for her dog reactivity and has made great progress. Due to her dog reactivity and potential to redirect, Creed would do best in an environment where she can get away from all these pets who are causing her stress.
