Meet ~Courtesy ~ Reba
REBA is a 10 month old, 42# Hound Mix who was dumped in a neighborhood with her three sisters. One sister has been adopted and one is in a wonderful foster home. Reba and her sister, Patsy, were the most feral of the four, but are quickly adjusting to living inside with their people. Because she was originally a feral dog, Reba is going to need a very patient family to love her as she adjusts to being a pet.
REBA is very sweet, but still skittish. She is not fully socialized and is still learning to trust and be loved on by her people. Her foster family has been working patiently with her and if her foster mom or dad kneel down, she will come to them for pets and head rubs. Sometimes when they reach for her, she will back away, but her trust level is building quickly. Reba wants affection and is learning how to accept it from her family. She will be a great pet for a loving patient family willing to show her the way! As unsure as she is with people, Reba loves and trusts other dogs and likes to run, wrestle and play in the yard with them. Another similar sized dog to play with in her new home would be a wonderful bonus, but she would probably be fine as an only dog if she had an active family and did not spend too much time alone. Reba needs to learn to walk on a leash. She definitely needs a fenced yard so she can burn off energy. Reba is doing great with potty training. She is learning how to use a doggie door. She will sleep all night in her crate without any accidents. She will go to the door during the day and cry to go out. She will ride in a car while crated but with time and training, will eventually be the perfect backseat passenger. She loves toys and enjoys chewing. Reba has a great appetite and enjoys trying new foods.
REBA has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, on monthly flea prevention and is microchipped (waiting for your registration).
MORE about REBA: She has not been around kids or cats. She loves to chew and will need appropriate toys, She is very active and would be best in an active household. Reba is very smart and learns quickly. She loves approval and does fine with corrections. She is very curious about what is going on around her and will alert you if something or someone is out of place.
