Meet Corky
Meet Corky, a stunning 2 to 3-year-old, 14-pound long-haired Chihuahua mix with a heart as beautiful as his appearance. This boy found himself surrendered to a local shelter after his senior owner, who is handicapped, could no longer care for him. Despite his challenging start, Corky is now thriving in foster care and is ready to find his forever home.
Although Corky could stand to lose a few pounds, he's already showing incredible progress in his health and happiness. With a target weight of around 10 pounds, he's on the path to reaching his ideal size with the right care and attention. His previous sedentary lifestyle led to some extra weight, but with walks and a balanced diet, he's well on his way to a healthier lifestyle.
Corky is learning to walk on a leash, although he much prefers rolling around in the grass and soaking up the sun. He's a bit shy and may initially growl out of uncertainty, but it's simply his way of expressing himself. Once he warms up, Corky is a true cuddle bug who loves nothing more than being in your lap or accompanying you on adventures.
He would do best in an adult quiet home without too many guests, as Corky may pretend to be tough and exhibit ankle-biting behavior with new, unknown guests. However, with patience and understanding, he quickly warms up and shows his loving nature. Corky is the perfect companion for a senior, bringing joy and companionship with his gentle demeanor and playful spirit.
Corky loves to chase toys and roll around in the grass, enjoying the simple pleasures of life. With his charming personality and adorable appearance, Corky is sure to capture the hearts of anyone lucky enough to welcome him into their home. Let's help this sweet boy find the loving forever home he deserves, where he can continue to flourish and bring happiness to his new family.
The first step in the process is to submit an application (link below) in order to set up a meet and greet or talk with the foster family. Once the application is submitted, the foster parents will contact you to chat more about the dog and make sure they're a good fit, and can answer any further questions. The application answers most of our questions in order to best match you. If you do not get the dog you apply for we can use your same application for 90 days towards another dog in our care and simply forward your app to that foster parent.

All dogs will be fully vetted (Spay/Neutered, Microchipped, DHPP and Rabies Vaccinated) and other possible vet care prior to adoption.
The adoption fee is $300 which is considered a non-refundable donation.
