Cookie Mixed Breed Kansas City, MO

Hello. My name is Cookie and I am about 6.5 years old. My mom passed away suddenly and I was really scared when I came to the shelter- so many new smells and noises. Luckily for me, I was put in a nice quiet home called a "foster".

There's a nice lady who calls herself my "foster mom". I'm not sure what that means, but I know she is the lady who feeds me every day and introduced me to something called "walks". I LOVE WALKS! I love to sniff and smell, so at first I pulled on the leash a lot, but my foster mom puts something around my nose and now I walk right next to her. She still lets me enjoy all the smells and crunch through the leaves and now she calls me a "good girl" while I walk.

I have a foster brother who has been easy to get along with. Sometimes, I wish he would play with me, but his mom says he's a bit of an older gentleman and not up for playing with me.

I was a little wary of strangers when I first got here, but my foster mom says I'm doing much better. I have a friend called a "dog walker". At first I wasn't too sure about her, but now I am SO excited when she visits. Did I also mention she gives me lots of yummy treats and has taught me a few tricks? I am not fond of strangers coming near the house, but if I see them with my foster mom, then i know it's okay and I'm excited to greet them.

My foster mom keeps telling me my future family is out there. I hope they have a backyard and will take me for walks like my foster mom does, because I just love it so much.
