Cookie Dachshund Mix Monticello, MN

Cookie is a young adult female black and tan Doxie mix, looks mostly Doxie but she's hefty and a little too tall. She is about 25 pounds, so a Doxie on steroids it looks like. Cookie LOVES people and does a happy dance and jumps up with joy when people come over- her worst habit at home is jumping on people. Her worst habit at the vet is being nippy coming out of her kennel, but once out she does well. She retreats to her kennel when she is scared and needs her space in there if she does, although we have not seen that happen at the foster home(s) ever- just the vet. She is dog friendly, house and kennel trained, good with kids and all people. She co-exists with cats when they are calm but does chase when they run, so likely a cat free home is best. Cookie does have some energy, she is a dog who needs a yard and someone to dedicate time daily for a good long walk. She is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm positive and being treated, so does need to return to our clinic in Maple Lake in 60 days for an overnight visit for the final injections to complete treatment.
