Meet Clyde
NAME: Clyde
AGE: About 10 years
WEIGHT: About 82lbs
BREED(S): Pit mix
REASON FOR ARRIVAL: Owner Surrender
GENERAL INFO ABOUT PERSONALITY:
Clyde is an awesome old man. He can be a git gruff in the beginning and is a bit shy around strangers which usually manifests in barking and walking away. However, he warms up very quickly and is such a love once he deems someone safe.
Clyde arrived with his "sister" Bonnie, they're inseparable and must be adopted together. They adore each other and like to spend the day out in the yard together lounging in the sun. We often find them in the same kennel during the day. Clyde gets a lot of his confidence from Bonnie, and we consider her his "emotional support dog."
He's a smart guy who knows, Sit, Stay, Shake, and Down. Although it does take him a little while to sit down, due to his bad knees.
Clyde loves to be outside. He gets very excited when you come near him with a leash. He's a bit of a puller on leash, but not too bad. When in the yard he loves to lay out in the sun for a bit, but then moves into a patch of shade to keep snoozing.
We think Clyde and his sister Bonnie would do best in a quieter home with a fenced yard.
Activity Level? Low
Training Needs? Light
House Trained? Yes
Leash Trained? Mostly
Crate Trained? Unknown
Comfortable with kids? Unknown
Comfortable with strangers? Needs time to warm up

Additional MEDICAL notes:
Clyde has rather progressed osteoarthritis of his knees. He is managed well on an anti-inflammatory and a joint supplement and doesn't let it slow him down. However, certain tasks, such as sitting and jumping, can be a challenge for him. He's a wonderful boy and still manages to be happy-go-lucky despite his arthritis. It is recommended that he have annual bloodwork to monitor his internal organ functions since he should remain on his medications long term.
Additional BEHAVIOR notes: None
ADOPTION FEE: $150 for an adult dog.
Adoption fee includes: Spay/neuter, initial vaccines, a microchip, rabies vaccine when appropriate, and one free veterinary visit with a local participating clinic.
