Meet Cliford
Cliford is house-trained and picks up on boundaries & routines quickly. He is a curious boy who likes to inspect every nook and cranny in the house & look out every window before settling down. He is friendly with kids but may be a bit much for toddlers—he doesn’t quite know how big he is and will accidentally bump into things (or people). In his foster home, he sleeps on the oldest child's bed every night & naps most of the day in the office while everyone works.
He’s dog-friendly but still has some puppy behavior that may annoy some dogs. Cliford will offer a play bow to dogs of all sizes and doesn't understand that his size or enthusiasm might be intimidating to them. His behavior around cats is untested but his easy going nature suggests he may do well with proper introductions over time.
Cliford likes going for walks, a quick tug-of-war session, or squeaking the life out of plush toys between long naps. He thrives in a home where he can do what his breed does best—watch over the family. His absolute favorite activity? Car rides! He’ll even stop at parked cars during walks in case one will take him on a road trip. Cliford will politely sit on a seat, squish on the floorboards, or nap in the back as long as he gets to go!
If you’re looking for a big, mellow, and polite companion who loves to keep you company, sneak in as many naps as possible, and gently drop his enormous head in your lap to ask what you're up to—Cliford is your guy.
Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.
Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.
Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
