Meet Cliford

Cliford is a young 2-3 year old ~80-pound gentle giant who’s a beautiful blend of Great Pyrenees intelligence & calm and Labrador friendliness and strength. His massive, lovable noggin is every bit as huggable as it looks & his curly tail is the perfect fidget toy. He is a big puppy that is still learning the ropes and his curiosity leads him to inspect every nook, cranny, and counter & look out every window before settling down.

Cliford has done great with kids of all ages and enjoys the pets, hugs, and snacks received. In his foster home, he sleeps on the oldest child's bed every night & naps most of the day in the office while everyone works. He loves other dogs and will offer a play bow to dogs of all sizes. He doesn't understand that his size or enthusiasm might be intimidating to them. His behavior around cats is untested beyond not noticing cats in the vet lobby but his easy going nature suggests he may do well with confident cats with proper introductions over time.

Staying in a crate or fenced area is merely a suggestion for Cliford, he prefers to do what the Pyrenees breed does best—watch over the family. The Lab in him absolutely loves food, making training a breeze. Cliford likes going for walks or a quick tug-of-war session between long naps. His absolute favorite activity? Car rides! He’ll even stop at parked cars during walks in case one will take him on a road trip. Cliford will politely sit on a seat, squish on the floorboards, or nap in the back as long as he gets to go!

If you’re looking for a big medium/low energy pup who will grow into the most mellow companion who loves to keep you company, sneak in as many naps as possible, and gently drop his enormous head in your lap to ask what you're up to—Cliford is your guy.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.

Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.

Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
