Cliff Border Collie Mix Duluth, MN

Fans of the TV show Cheers: Cliff was found by a mailman. Get it? We’re not sure how this cutie patootie ended up on his own, but he’s with us now and the future is bright. He’s cuddly, thoughtful and attentive to his people and can’t wait to get his own last name. Cliff is a Border Collie mix born in May 2024, currently 26#.

Cliff is a playful guy, entertaining himself by pulling all the toys out of the toybox for a mega play session. He loves meeting new people, especially children. Snuggles and attention are totally his jam. He’s easy to live with, loves to explore new places and learn new things. His wish list for a new home includes:

-People who are home a lot or spend lots of time with him
-Daily activity in the form of playtime and something for his brain
-Obedience classes for bonding and to show off his smarts
-Kids! He loves them and is very gentle
-Herding breed experience and dedication to positive training

Cliff doesn’t miss much in the world around him – he notices any movement. For this reason, a fenced yard is preferred, but not required. Canine siblings of similar size and moderate energy would be fabulous. He’s inquisitive and appropriate with kitties in his foster home. Well on his way to being fully potty trained and seeks out his crate for downtime. Walks nicely on leash!

Building Cliff’s confidence is key as he matures. He wants to know his people have his back when he meets unknown dogs so he can calmly and politely pass them without fear. He is easily redirected to his human for praise and treats. Continued socialization and safe exposure to the presence of other dogs is important for his development.

Foster mom says “He’s a love. He adores all people and wants to meet everyone he sees. He also thinks before diving in a new situation. He wants to make his people happy and do the right thing.”

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Cliff's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax. He is microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. He will be neutered by the rescue at the age of 6 months at one of the vet clinics we work with. The cost of this procedure is included in his adoption fee. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
