Cleo American Bulldog & Boxer Mix Medfield, MA

Big news! Polkadog Bakery has made Cleo their Pet of the Month and will not only cover her adoption fee but also send her home with tons of goodies.

Cleo was rescued from a home with 16 other starved and filthy dogs and is so happy to have a clean kennel with cozy blankets and three meals a day. She is three years old. She has had all of her vet care but needs to gain some weight before our vet spays her. During her first hour at the Shelter, she had a blood draw, two vaccines, and a desperately needed bath, and her tail wagged the whole time. She is so gentle and sweet. She knows sit and shake and is well-behaved in the car. She will be fun and easy to train because she loves food. Our staff and volunteers love this dog and are having so much fun spoiling her.

She was friendly with the two male Beagles we had in our care but was reactive toward a large female Shepherd, so we think it would be best for her to go to a home where she is the only dog. She is also too interested in our guinea pigs and parakeet, so she should probably not live with small critters.

If a dog is listed on our website, they are still available for adoption, but there may be applications ahead of yours. We typically receive many applications for every dog we post. All adoption meetings are by appointment.

Our dog adoption fee is $450 for dogs seven months to seven years old and $250 for dogs eight years old and over. Every dog we place receives age-appropriate vaccines, is wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. Please fill out the adoption application if you want to be considered for a dog you see in our care.

With few exceptions, dogs are happiest and well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families willing to commit to both.
