Cleo is three years old and now weighs a healthy 85 lbs. She came to us after being rescued from a home where she suffered from terrible neglect. She has had all of her vet care and is so ready for a home of her own. She is so good for the vet and for bathing and grooming. She is gentle, sweet and affectionate. She is housebroken, crate trained, and knows many commands such as sit, down, wait, and shake, and enjoys car rides. She is fun and easy to train because she loves food. Her tail never stops wagging. She is spending time in a foster home and her foster mom told us, "Cleo is truly a fantastic dog. We can’t get over how quiet she is, how responsive she is, how easy she is to walk, that she’s housebroken, and that the kids next door can come over and play with her. She plays with her orange ball every night after supper like it’s the greatest gift ever."

Cleo is reactive towards other dogs, and while we are working on that with her, she must be the only pet in her next home. She is also too interested in our guinea pigs and parakeet, so she should probably not live with cats or small critters. She would be fine in a home with kids ages 12 and up and enjoys playing with kids that age who live in her foster family's neighborhood.

If a dog is listed on our website, they are still available for adoption, but there may be applications ahead of yours. We typically receive many applications for every dog we post. All adoption meetings are by appointment.

Our dog adoption fee is $450 for dogs seven months to seven years old and $250 for dogs eight years old and over. Every dog we place receives age-appropriate vaccines, is wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. Please fill out the adoption application if you want to be considered for a dog you see in our care.

With few exceptions, dogs are happiest and well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families willing to commit to both.
