CJ! Terrier Mix Roseville, CA

Sweet and snuggly CJ (also known as Chipper) is about 18-20lbs and estimated date of birth is 1/2022. He's a happy little guy who deserves an amazing home. Here are some notes from his amazing fosterparents:

All About Chipper (C.J.)

• He is the most lovable boy we have ever encountered. He loves humans more than dogs. He snuggles up to you and looks at you with eyes filled with love.
• He is a happy and cheerful boy and loves attention and petting from humans.
• He and our girl Kya do almost everything together, including mischief.
• He loves car rides and often just stays in the car.
• He enjoys the morning and evening walks every day. He walks leash free. He follows our commands “Chipper Come!”, “Chipper Stop”, “Chipper No”. In addition, He learned to “Wait” before he eats or goes outdoors. He responds to his name “Chipper” very well.
• He behaves perfectly well at PetSmart at Home Depot. No barking at anything or anybody.
• Chipper is a good eater. He not only eats his kibbles but likes apples, carrots, and other fruit and vegetables.

Here is a list of improvements needed:

• He barks at some strangers, but not always. A few times we witnessed him growl and nip their pants. We haven’t figured out what triggers such behavior.
• He scent-marked indoors when he first came to us. We put a belly band on while he is indoors and he has now improved, however his adopters might need to manage this initially when he transitions to a new environment.

CJ would love to have a playful dog buddy to pal around with and dog experienced parents that can continue to work with him on marking and occasional reacting to some strangers. Everyone agrees that this little dude is such a special boy and is ready for his special home!
