Chuck Miniature Poodle Chicago, IL

Chuck is a five-year-old, 18-pound, gorgeous, joyful, and playful, male black miniature poodle looking for a loving guardian.

Chuck has lived with the same family since he was a puppy. Now that the family situation has changed, he needs to find a new home.

Chuck is a great dog with one exception; he is a resource guarder. That means his behavior needs to be managed by an attentive dog-lover. Resource guarding is when a dog reacts when they perceive a threat to a valuable resource in their possession: sometimes even biting.

Besides his resource guarding, he is a smart, well-trained dog. He knows the commands sit and down, walks beautifully on leash, and does great at doggie daycare. He is well-behaved at the groomer but wears a muzzle when he gets his ears cleaned, and nails trimmed.

Chuck is perfectly housebroken and uses a pee pad for long work days or polar vortex days. He can be crated, but he barks.

He’s been on a lot of trips with his family and does great in a plane.

Chuck is extremely healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative.

His adoption fee of $275 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue.
