Meet Chop
If you are looking for a mild mannered family dog, Chop is your guy! He deserves the best home since he hasn't had it easy and has so much love to give. Chop is a sweet 10 mo old shepherd mix pup. 60 lbs currently and he is almost done filling out. My guess full grown he will be 70 pounds. Chop lives to snuggle. He is very smart and learns boundaries quickly. He knows he isn't allowed on the cloth couches in the house, but can get into bed if invited. He feels very safe in his kennel and eats his meals in it. He will often take naps in his kennel with the door open.
He is very shy, but warms up to everyone and is very confident playing with dog friends of all sizes. He loves people, but will need more time than the average dog to adjust and get gradually more comfortable. He seems to feel more comfortable in a home with another dog and picks up their behaviors and learns from them. My guess is that he would be good in a house with a cat because he is very calm when meeting dogs, especially small breed dogs the size of a cat. Chop is in a foster home with 2 other large dogs, but we have dog sat for a friends chihuahua (the major boss) and had family dogs over and he is good with everyone instantly.
Chop would do best with a yard to play in, people to snuggle with and a dog buddy. He really loves to play. He spends a lot of time napping between play sessions. Hasn't found a dog toy he doesn't love. He is currently being fostered in a home with a 5 year old and 16 year old and 2 large breed dogs. He is really good about sharing toys and chew bones with the other dogs and the kids can take the bones without any hesitation. He is very gentle with kids. He is potty trained, and uses the doggy door. The difference between kids toys and dog toys has clicked now so we can leave the kids bedrooms open now which is nice. He is very smart and learns quick.
Neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots.
Good with all dogs
