Say hello to Cholula, a beautiful, approximately 6 pound tiny girl with a reddish-brown and white coat. She is approximately 7 years old and so sweet and loving!
If you are looking for a tiny, laid back and affectionate dog, Cholula is your girl! She adores her foster mom and loves to give kisses! She loves to snuggle in her lap, the crook of her arm, loves belly scratches, and sleeps in the bed burrowed in her “nest”. The cutest thing ever is she chirps for more scratches!
Cholula is not your typical feisty chihuahua and she fit right in with the other dogs in her foster home, gets along well with all of them (even the puppy foster). Cholula prefers to be with her people when she goes outside. She is mostly potty trained and will do her business outside (if it’s not really cold or raining) or use a pee pad. She has had a few accidents in the house, but this has gotten better as time has gone by. Cholula’s new family will need to positively reinforce her good potty habits.
Cholula is generally a calm, quiet and well-behaved girl. If she is unsure of a situation, she can become a little anxious but is easily reassured. Because she has the potential to be a “door darter,” Cholula is kenneled when her foster mom leaves the house for short periods. And while she is fine being in a kennel she will yap when her foster mom leaves and when she returns. For this reason she is probably not apartment appropriate. As she has become accustomed to being kenneled when her foster mom leaves, the yapping has lessened some.
Because of her small size, Cholula must never be left unattended in the backyard and the yard must have a secure, wooden fence. Her ideal home would be calm and moderately active, with a family who spends a lot of time at home. A work-at-home or retired family would be perfect! Aside from the noise she makes when her foster mom leaves or comes home, Cholula does not bark much, but will if she gets excited at meal time or her foster siblings bark. While Cholula prefers to be in your lap as opposed to playing with her foster siblings (her foster mom has not seen her play), she does seem to enjoy the company of other dogs but she’ll also do fine as an only dog.

PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.
Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.
The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.
We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
