Meet Chips
Chips is a dapper gentleman at ~1.5 years old and ~66 lbs! This sweet guy loves to cuddle once he gets to know you! It doesn't take much for him to warm up besides good treats and being talked to nicely. If he could be anything, he would want to be a lap dog as he loves to crawl into your lap. Chips loves toys and absolutely adores playing fetch! With him being treat, toy, and affection motivated, he is very easy to train! He is insecure around strangers and needs a confident handler to advocate for his needs until he is comfortable around said strangers.
It's been reported he's good with most dogs, but will bark at other dogs while on leash. Chips is also a professional fly catcher and would be a great asset to someone who also doesn't enjoy flies pestering them! His previous owners have reported him to be crate trained as well. He was great with the baby that lived in his home, but he needs proper introductions when being introduced to kids that are strangers to him. We are unsure how he is with cats or livestock as he has never lived with them.
He's fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. He is $175 to bring home!
If you are interested, please call the shelter at (541) 474-5458. You can view more adoptable pets at www.jocoshelter.com/adoptions . Walk-ins are welcome, however we highly recommend calling first to check on availability and location (some animals may be offsite or unavailable). Appointments are recommended to reduce wait times, especially for dogs. Thank you!
