Name: Chips
Nicknames: Little Man
Age or Date of Birth: Approximately 5 months old (as of 9/29/21).
Activity Level: I love following humans around, playing with my toys, and wrestling with my pup friends during the day, in between long naps.
Things I do in my free time: I love toys, playing gentle tug and chase with kiddos and carrying around pinecones. I love hugs and love to be someone's shadow. I LOVE laying in the sun, both indoors and out.
Things I know: "Sit", "Treats!”, How to occupy myself when humans are eating, how to crate at night and when my humans aren't home, and that potty business belongs outside.
Things I am learning/currently working on: I am learning how to walk on a loose leash and how to "drop," especially all the squirrels' acorns I find in the yard.
Who I currently live with (humans and animals): 3 adult humans and 2 dogs (One older female who ignores me and one adolescent I love to wrestle with often.)
How I do with kids: I get along great with my 8-year-old and love meeting new children of all ages.
How I do with dogs: I love dogs. I play well with them and have no issues sharing my toys. I try to steal their food sometimes, but listen when they or my human says no. My older dog friend doesn’t like to play so I give her kisses and let her be. I am trying to convince them I will be the pack leader when I'm older. My humans think it's true and that I'll be a very balanced leader.
How I do with cats: Unsure. I see one out the window sometimes and I don’t react to it. If my new home had a cat, we would make sure everyone got along first.
My current size: I am 21 pounds at the moment. We do not know my adult size for sure but I will probably be between 50-60 lbs. when fully grown. It’s hard for the rescue to know for sure since we don’t have history on my parents.
How I do in my kennel: It's like a little house and I feel safe in it when my humans leave or it's bedtime.
How I do on car rides: I don't mind it. I prefer to sit in a doggie car seat or a cuddle bed in the car.
Am I house trained?: I rarely have an accident since my humans let me out often. I'm learning to also tell them when I have to go in case they forget. I've never had an accident in my crate.
Additional Info: I am very human focused, gentle, sweet and smart. My humans appreciate my confidence in meeting new people and new dogs, and they tell me I'm the most well-rounded puppy they've ever met.
