Chips is definitely a Chihuahua mix, but we're not sure what with - possibly Jack Russell and/or Doxie, and/or Corgi? Chip is very young. Maybe a bit over one year old. He is very active and athletic. He has springs! Chips came to the county shelter with his brother, Dean, also posted. Chips is a little bit bigger than Dean, and mostly white. He has soulful eyes. Of the two, he wants to be the boss! Both boys are very sweet and love to be carried and cuddled by their human but they are nervous about meeting some new people. Introductions just need to be done slowly so they can see that they are safe. Chips can be a bit jealous of others getting attention he thinks should be his, and a bit protective of his food around other dogs.
The boys are both crate trained, but prefer to be with their person. They both need continued training, but they especially need direction. Both boys are very sweet, and they'be make a great pair if they lived with someone who was committed to their training and social interactions, and willing to be a leader! A chaotic lifestyle will not be helpful to them. They would both be fabulous at agility! If they can't go to a home together, they both need to go to a home with another young, active dog.
Adoption Process: We are not first come first served. Indigo Rescue focuses on finding good matches between dogs and families to ensure life long adoptions. We deliver all dogs to their new homes. All of our dogs are in foster homes. If you’re interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete our online adoption application using the following link, The link is not live, so you will need to copy and paste it into your browser: http://indigorescue.org/?page_id=16
If the dog you're interested in seems compatible with your lifestyle we'll set up a time for you to meet the dog privately.
PLEASE NOTE: Indigo Rescue only adopts to homes within 30 miles of Portland because our volunteers deliver all of our dogs to their adoptive homes. We work very hard to create a family of our Indigo Rescue adopters because we want to be close enough to help in case there are any problems. We want everyone to be happy and successful!
**ALL of our dogs, puppies, cats, kittens and rabbits come vaccined to their age, spayed/neutered and microchipped.
Thank you for your interest in adopting and saving a life.
