Meet Chippy
They lost their guardian. They lost their home. Lets make sure they don't lose each other.
Nahoe and Chippy may seem like an unlikely duo but clearly love knows no breed and having lived together since they were very young they have become deeply attached.
Sadly, their guardian passed away suddenly and despite efforts to find them a home time was limited so we were contacted to help.
Nahoe is 6 and Chippy is 5 and while we know it is harder to find a home for a bonded pair, separating them is not an option and would be too hard on their morale. They are troopers and are doing their best to adjust to this major change in their lives but it is clear that Chippy is very dependent on Nahoe for comfort and support.
The good news is that they are incredibly sweet-natured and gentle dogs - they love people and cats, are house-trained, and behave well on a leash.
Chippy, the lovely little border collie cross is timid upon first meeting new people but it doesn't take long to gain her trust and once that happens you have a friend for life. You will know she’s accepted you when she sits beside you and puts out her paw – not to do the “shake-a-paw” trick but as a gesture of affection. Chippy, our little heartbreaker.
Nahoe, the gorgeous Rottweiller mix is, on the other hand, quite outgoing and will readily come to you to say hello. Nahoe tends to show her love by leaning against her favourite people – she seems to know how strong she is though so she leans quite gently. Despite her size, if the opportunity presents itself she'll happily crawl into your lap for a snuggle.
When out for a walk in the woods, if Nahoe is with her, you can let Chippy off her leash and she will never stray because she’ll never leave Nahoe. If Chippy falls a little too far behind Nahoe will plunk her butt down on the ground and wait until Chippy catches up.
Both Chippy and Nahoe are incredibly gentle and calm. They behave beautifully on the leash, they love to ride in cars, they have not a speck of aggression, they love other dogs and cats, and they love being groomed. If you think they sound too good to be true, think again – they really are this wonderful. All you need to do is to give them a little time to get to know you, and they will be devoted to you for life.
We are confident that with just a little bit of time to figure out their new routine and as long as they are together, they will transition easily into a new home.
