This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet Chip Lexington - a 3 year old, Collie mix, who weighs 45 pounds (as of 7/12/24). Unfortunately, Chip's previous owner passed away and Chip is looking for a new family to call his own! He was previously living his best life before tragedy struck. His previous owner loved Chip and cared for him and his fur-siblings. Once he entered the rescue's care, it was a few weeks until we were able to find this sweet boy a foster. There have been a lot of changes in Chip's life recently but he has handled everything like a ROCKSTAR!

His foster shares: "Chip is incredibly outgoing, loving, and calm. He deserves the best and can't wait to find a loving family to call his own. There is a gentleness to him, and he loves every new friend he meets. He also LOVES children! He is also great with all dogs and cats. He's fully trained (house broken, leash and crate). We knew when we met him that he was a special boy who wouldn't let a broken heart from the passing of his previous owner define him. He deserves all of the hugs and kisses and can't wait to find a new family to call his own!"

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
