Hi Im Chimaera! Volunteers think Im the sweetest! The first time I met a volunteer, I was shy for about 5 seconds and then I leaned my whole body into her leg so she could pet me. I melted while she gave me lots of cuddles ?? I almost crawled right into her lap! Im a happy, friendly girl but once in a while I need assurance from my human and will come stand between your legs or close to you so you can hug or pet me. Im young and have some fun puppy energy (but not crazy)I LOVE to play and explore! I love gentle play wrestling in the kennel with my roomie, I love when volunteers throw soft toys for me to chase, I love exploring the play yard and sniffing everything. I do like treats but I think I enjoy snuggles and being petted even more! I know sit and volunteers think I can learn much more because they say Im one smart cookie! Im currently kenneled with a friendly male husky, so may do well with your dog with a slow and proper introduction. Im ready to love my new family! Please come visit me today! Please remember that the shelter is a stressful environment; many dogs come to Front Street as strays without any known history. While staff and volunteers do their best to learn about each dog, behavior in the shelter is not always the same as behavior in a home. Keeping the 3/3/3 Decompression Rule in mind is important. Three days for initial decompression, three weeks to learn the routines of your household, and three months to start to feel relaxed and safe in the home. When you adopt, foster, or are a new pet parent, it's especially important to consider.
