Ben (55 pounds) and his 3 sisters, Triscuit (47 pounds), Cheezit (55 pounds), and Ritz (50 pounds) and his Mom, Goldfish, came into the shelter because their family had too many dogs. The pups are 7 month old Black Mouth Cur and Mastiff pups. Mom, Goldfish, is 3 years old and weighs 55 pounds and is also a Black Mouth Cur/Mastiff.
Adoption fees are $60, $30 or free. If the pet has been at the shelter more than 30 days, they are free. Check the INTAKE DATE on the adoption card to determine this. If the pet is 4 years of age or older OR if you adopt more than one pet, the fee is $30 for each pet. All others are $60. OKC Animal Welfare is open for adoptions from 12-5:00 Tuesday through Saturday. The shelter is at 2811 S.E. 29th St., phone # 405-297-3100.
The dog/cat adoption fee includes spay or neuter, MICROCHIP, age-appropriate shots and health check. Use pet's ID # when inquiring.
