MY STORY: MY STORY: Checker is very sweet , most affectionate guy you can imagine. Initially he was very shy, of people and things. But he has come a long way. At first when he was in the backyard and there was some loud noise, he would streak to the back door and run inside. A few minutes later, you would see this little head peek around the corner, making sure the coast is clear before he ventured out again. Those days have passed. Not much phases him now. He is the first one through the door when I call them in. He is learning about home living and manners, very anxious to please, and listens well. Housebreaking is a work in progress, but I would say we are 90% there. He is full of love and kisses, wants to be near you, and needs a forever family that will recognize how special he is. He is a pretty dog and is growing well. I would guess him to be about 15 pounds now. He is the size of a small beagle. Checker gets along great with the other dogs. All he lacks are those wonderful people that will give him his forever home and take him on the next step of his life’s journey.

This dog does shed and is not hypoallergenic.

Our dogs are located in foster homes throughout the state. We do not have a facility. Adopters must be 24 years old.We can not adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and MN. Most of our dogs are strays, so the breed is our best guess.
