Champ American Bully & Boxer Mix Scranton, PA

Update from Champ's foster mom - After spending a few weeks with us we have come to the conclusion that our home is not the best option for him. Champ is an absolutely adorable, wiggly, happy little man!!! He loves nothing more than attention and snuggling with his people. He can be a little nervous at times, but he is very trusting of humans. He has been playing well with one of our dogs who is similar in size, sharing toys and playing lots of tug! He's a sweetie for sure!!!

We love the little guy, but he needs to be in a home where he is not alone for 8-10 hours in the course of some days. I'm afraid we are doing him a disservice, he has gotten very vocal in his crate if we leave the room. This is worse than when we first brought him home, and I'm afraid we are doing harm by not meeting his needs. So we feel that if he can be promoted for adoption or even another foster that would be able to spend more time with him, it would be better. This makes us sad for us because my husband is absolutely smitten with him. Meet our newest addition to the rescue.... meet Champ!! He was recently rescued from a high kill southern shelter after being brought in by Animal Control. He is estimated to be about two years of age and he weighs between 50-55 lbs. Champ is listed as a Boxer/Lab mix but we think that he has a much more "bulldoggie" look about him. We know that you will love him... whatever his true breed make up in. Everyone does!! Champ was lucky enough to be chosen to go into a foster home when hurricane Debby wreaked havoc on the south. He did so well in foster that he is going to remain there until he is neutered and ready to come to PA on transport on Sept. 8th.
Here is what Champ has to say about himself:
"I'll tell you a little about how I've been doing in foster and what I would love and appreciate in a forever home. Other dogs are fine. Big, small. I get along with all of 'em. Even the grouchy white one. I didn't know it before, but I like watching TV. That long thing with the squishy pillows and the cushions. I like that, too. It's a lot more comfortable than the shelter concrete. Do you have any treats with meat? I know I'm a guest, but those spinach bones and sweet potato chips are not really my favorite. I consider myself a compact "schmedium" size. So, I think I can handle some extra treats. Please know I can walk pretty good on a leash, that whole shower thing was great, I don't like frogs, and I would like enough space to do my zoomies. I don't bark much at all, I know how to sit, and I'm working on that shake thing with my paw. I'm still getting used to the crate thing, but it's a nice place for bedtime. I'd much rather sleep in the bed, but I know yours is probably full. NO CATS FOR ME PLEASE!!
