Meet charismatic Champ Chaz, a 2.5 year old, 80-pound, Weimaraner/Great Dane mix young fellow with a zest for life. Champ Chaz has been looking for his forever family for EIGHT MONTHS now. Over a half a year in rescue just doesn't seem fair! This big boy is a teddy bear who just wants a family to love!!

His foster shares "I just love this boy! He is fun-loving and goofy and really makes me laugh. He has an adventurous spirit. Champ Chaz likes to be on the go and would be the ideal companion for an active family or single adult. He'd be the perfect buddy for someone who enjoys a daily run/walk. He is GREAT on a leash. Champ also loves a game of chase. Champ Chaz is great with dogs - and especially loves the ladies! He doesn't have to be in a multiple dog household - he could definitely be your one and only - but he would also be great as an addition to your pack.

Live near a lake - this boy LOVES the water and would love to keep you company on water adventures.

He is very well mannered to - he takes a treat gently and knows he is supposed to greet people with all paws on the floor. That isn't to say he won't give you a big hug if you let him. He absolutely loves kids too - but maybe at 80 pounds you don't want the tiny ones getting accidentally knocked over by his lovin'. He also knows to tell you he has to go out for the bathroom and doesn't have accidents indoors.

Champ is good-natured and turns to mush when its cuddle-time - but he snores so you might want him to have a separate bed (or a CPAP - ha!). He is so obedient and really aims to please. So I have to admit with all these great qualities I am pampering him and spoiling him rotten - and I can't wait for a family to see what an amazing boy he is and do exactly the same for the rest of his life!"

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT.
If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
