Meet Cerridwen

A true and caring friend!

Meet Cerridwen! Cerridwen is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).

Cerridwen is a mixed breed puppy with black fur and adorable black and white mottled markings on her neck and chest. We estimate she will be a medium size dog when full grown. Part of our Court of Thorns and Roses litter, Cerridwen and her eight siblings were discovered in a cardboard box and turned it to a Texas shelter where they were slated for euthanasia. Thanks to our amazing fosters, we were able to save them all and transport them here to find new homes in the PNW area. Like her literary namesake, our Cerridwen is a true friend and will be a loyal companion for some fortunate adopter.

Curious, affectionate, and gentle, Cerridwen is quite possibly the perfect puppy. Born in mid-July, this little girl is the sweetest ever, a cuddle bug who wants to love and be loved in return. While Cerridwen adores jumping around and playing (running around outdoors is hugely popular with her), she is also perfectly content to be held and sit totally still while you're working on a computer. Cerridwen sits quietly in her foster’s arms during Zoom meetings (no word on whether she shares her take on the other attendees after the meeting); she is just happy to be near you, whatever you are doing. Curious and playful, Cerridwen enjoys initiating play with the resident dog and is quite brave about checking out new sounds or things in her environment. Her fosters are building on this natural curiosity by taking her on adventures to grow her confidence. Cerridwen is a sociable pup who enjoys the company of other dogs; people and children are great as well because they will pet her! She’s also a caring pup; while Cerridwen started out sleeping in her own crate at night, she shifted to keeping her brother company in his as he adjusts to his new surroundings with more trepidation than she did.

Cerridwen is learning quickly as she settles into her foster home. She contentedly spends several hours at a time in her crate, and she sleeps through the night. Cerridwen has started potty and leash training and has begun obedience as well (which will be helped by the fact that food and treats might be her most favorite things after people).

Cerridwen’s ideal home? Well, this lovely pup doesn’t need a castle or fancy court to make her happy. She seeks a family that will love her as much and as loyally as she will love them. Lots of romping and walks and treats and snuggles and cuddles and pets would make her the happiest puppy ever. She would thrive in a home with kids, dogs, and dog-savvy cats. If this sounds like your home, Cerridwen is waiting for you!

Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue

• Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.

• Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.

• Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.

About Path of Hope Rescue

• At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes.

• We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment.

• Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.

• Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process.
