Meet Cedar
Cedar is an adorable pup :) She's a spayed female of an unknown breed(s). We're *GUESSING* that she's a Border Terrier mix. The ladies at the vet don't even know what breed(s) she could be! :P :) The photos of her are with her hair cut-- it was cut before she even got here-- we don't know what it looks like long. She has brown brindle-colored, kind of wiry fur. She was approximately born in January 2023. Cedar weighed 30 pounds on 8-30-2023.
Cedar has zero training. She likes to jump on people to ask for attention like ear scratches and under-the-collar scratches. She doesn't know to sit or follow any fancy commands. We can tell though that she could learn how to play fetch... She likes to throw tennis balls up in the air and retrieve them by herself. She doesn't really understand that she needs to run to get the ball after we throw it :P
Cedar is *mostly* potty trained. She's unable to hold it the full 11 hours that we're away from the shelter overnight. We wouldn't expect anyone-- even humans-- to hold it the full 11 hours, yknow? She sometimes has accidents in her kennel, so we'd prefer that she is adopted by someone who is home often.
Cedar's previous owners said that she's compatible with other dogs and cats (we haven't tried this out ourselves though). Cedar would be better with taller children (since she likes to jump; this is the reason she was surrendered to our shelter) and she's compatible with all adults. We will say though, that she's afraid of strangers. She needs more than one visit from her potential new family. She really dislikes going to the vet because they're all strangers to her!! :P
She's currently eating whatever dry dog food is donated. We'll send home a sample with Cedar's new family.
Cedar is up-to-date on her vaccinations, spayed, up-to-date on her flea and tick preventative, tested negative for heartworm, is up-to-date on her heartworm preventative, has been dewormed, and is microchipped.
Cedar's adoption fee is $200 and we accept cash or check. We do not have the ability to accept debit/credit cards.
