Meet Casper

Casper is all white with bright blue eyes. She also has short legs relative to her body size. She was born July 18, 2024.

Casper and her 8 siblings were removed from a home due to neglect, came to HART from a shelter in Kentucky to help them find their forever homes. The father is a pure Austrian Shepard Blue Heeler that weighs 45 lbs. The mother is said to be a Lab mix that weighs 50 Lbs. Casper is much small than most of her siblings, at 16 weeks old she only weighed 10 pounds when some others 18 pounds. She is in excellent health.

Casper is a very confident, fun loving pup. She likes children, adults, and other dogs. She enjoys playing tug of war and keep away as well as wrestling with her siblings and other dogs. She has been around to 5 adult larger dogs during play dates. She has been around 5 younger children (4-11 years old) and takes harsh holding well.

She warms up to other dogs fast and likes to play with them. Casper likes to have her belly rubbed and ears messaged. She also loves to lay on you lap while you watch TV, and she does give kisses. She is a bit more independent her other siblings but is still an affectionate pup. She rides well in the car. Has started walking on a lead, but needs additional training.

Casper is crate trained, and working on house training. The cool weather didn’t deter her from going outside. Casper is a pretty laid back pup, her activity level is about average, plays for an hour or 2 and then rest/sleeps and hour or so as most puppies. She sleeps through the night in his crate (9:30 to 6:30) without protest, if she hears stirring near 6 he’ll start making noise to go out.

She enjoys chew toys, tug-of-war, chewing on sticks, and playing with other dogs. She is highly food motivated, so training should be easy. Casper would do best with a fenced yard, as she loves to wonder around stiffing and playing in the flower beds or anything she can find. If you think Casper could be a good fit, submit an application and the foster will bring him to your house for a visit.

All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. If you are interested in any of our pets, you must complete an online dog adoption application at www.rescueAhart.org . The application will put you in touch with this wonderful dog's foster family so you can schedule a meeting. Thanks!
